                COORG    -    Scotland of India | Home of SPICES

Coorg is a landlocked district in the State of Karnataka, officially known as Kodagu. It has beautiful mountainous with hills and valleys crisscrossing the landscape. Hilly topography of Coorg is interspersed with grassy downs, paddy fields, sloping glades, gorges & deep valleys. You can see beautiful trees which are spread widely opening up patches of grassland with forest covered hills, spice and coffee plantations across the village.

1. Temples

            There are 5 splendid temples in Coorg everyone should visit.

    a. Namdroling Monastery           
    b. Omkareshwar Temple

    d. Bhagalmandla                  
      e. Padi Igguthappa Temple 



2. Forts

            Coorg has only two famous monuments built in 17th century.

a. Madikere Fort        -        You can explore various ancient monuments.
b. Nalaknad Palace    -        Intricated with wood carvings with ancient 
paintings.



3. Reservoirs

            The only reservoir "CHIKLIHOLE RESERVOIR" has been made on the tributaries of river KAVERI. You can experience the greenery and rich flora near this.



4. Wildlife

                Nagarhole National Park Which has the most Tiger reserves & Elephant reserves in Karnataka state. Apart from these it shelters with various species of carnivorous, herbivorous & plenty of birds.
